Amy Marchant qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2007.  She has over 9 years of clinical experience working with vulnerable children, young adults and families in a variety of settings, including nurseries, children’s centres and secondary schools; both within the NHS and independently.

Amy has experience of working with preschool age children with both speech sound and language needs, in both clinic and nursery settings.

Amy specialises in working with older children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, and for the last decade has worked within, and led, highly specialist multi-disciplinary teams supporting children, young people and adults with personality disorders, attachment disorders, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety and trauma.

Amy is experienced in working at a whole school level, delivering training to school staff, working directly within the classroom and working alongside senior leadership teams to meet the speech, language and communication needs of all students.

For the last five and a half years, Amy has worked as the centre manager and latterly, the Registered Manager of a residential family assessment centre. Within this expert witness role, Amy has safeguarded and supported some of the most vulnerable parents and children from across the country through the process of Court ordered parenting assessment. Amy is highly skilled in parent-child interaction, and experienced in working with families with a history of severe trauma and abuse.
